2010 Golf Outing

Mark Your Calendars……….Monday, JULY 12, 2010.

Please come join us for the 2^nd Annual Jacob Trannel Onalaska High School Hockey Booster Club’s Annual Golf Outing.  As the result of past success, we are returning to the La Crosse Country Club.  

Last year’s golf outing was an incredible success!!!  We raised enough money to support OHS high school hockey and the Jacob James Trannel (JJT) Foundation.   The foundation gave two college scholarships to graduating hockey players, renamed the TYH Bantam A tournament, sponsored the Kohlman Cup skills competition, as well as a number of other memorials for Jacob.

This is a major fundraiser for both organizations and we need your help to make it successful!!!  There are three ways you can participate in this event:

GOLF or Dinner Only – Format for golf is a flighted 4-person scramble. Shotgun start at NOON with registration starting at 11:00 a.m.  The cost is only $100 per player, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, use of range/practice areas, social hour starting at 5:30 P.M., and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Hole events, prizes, raffles, and silent auction items will entice golfers of all levels.  If you are not a golfer and would still like to be part of the event, please join us at 5:30 for social hour and dinner at 6:30.

Hole Sponsor – Please consider being a Hole Sponsor.

Hole Sponsor: $150 = Business/Name displayed on a hole.

Silver Club: $500 = Golf and dinner for 4, Business/Name displayed on a hole.

Gold Club: $750 = Golf and dinner for 4, Business/Name display on a hole, and Business/Name displayed at Registration and Dinner.

Silent Auction/Raffle Donations – please consider donating items. A great way to promote your business or organization, and support OHS Boys Hockey at the same time!

Board Elections Monday, May 10, 2010

Volunteers are needed for Rink 1 teardown scheduled for Sunday, March 7, from 5 to 9 PM and Monday, March 8, from 5 to 10 PM. Ten workers needed each evening (volunteers only able to work shorter shifts are welcome). Please contact Tom Seiler at Seiler1618@aol.com or 608.780.5335.

This year TYH will be hosting the Squirt A State Tournament.  Service hours are given for working the tournament.  Currently there are still openings available.  You must be experienced in the box to work for the State Tournament.  If you are not experienced but would like to work you may come to the Squirt A tournament and be trained on how to run the clock, fill out the scoresheet or work in the penalty box.  The State Tournament weekend may be the last chance you have to fulfill service hours.  So if your 20 hour commitment is not filled please sign up.  You can go to www.tornadoyouthhockey.org, click on service hours on the left, then click on Available Service hours.  Scroll down the State Tournament sign up to see what is still available.  Email Annette O’Hern, our service hour coordinator to tell her what you are available to work.  Her email is annetteohern@tornadoyouthhockey.org.  She will email you back a confirmation.

If you need to train at the Squirt A home tournament contact shellylaplount@tornadoyouthhockey.org to set up a training time.  The home tournament is this weekend Feb. 27th and 28th.

Approximately 8 volunteers are needed each evening for rink two teardown scheduled for March 2, 5:30-10:00 PM and March 3, 5:30 PM until completion of project. LAST CALL FOR RECIPES!

We still need your family’s favorite recipes for the First Edition TYH Cookbook.

FINAL DEADLINE for recipe submission is extended to February 27th, 2010.
All families may now add up to ten (10) recipes.

Since we did not collect the 300 to 400 recipes needed to publish a TYH cookbook in the Fall 2009, we are continuing the project for the 2010-11 hockey season.  Our plan is to publish the cookbook in late Summer of 2010 and have the books available for sale and distribution in the Fall.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE SUBMITTED RECIPES TO DATE.  If you have already submitted ten recipes, please do not add any more recipes at this time.  We are hoping to have most of the TYH families represented in the cookbook.
